In April 2025, our world stopped. Angus—our beloved black Chow Chow, the real inspiration behind The Blue Tongue Agency—was diagnosed with cancer.
We had walked this heartbreaking road before. Our first Chow Chow warrior, Maximus Aurelius Adrian, fought the same battle. We lost him. Then Minnie Adrian, Angus's soul mate, left us unexpectedly on August 27, 2025—she made it to my bedside and passed just seconds before I found her. The grief was unbearable.
But with Angus, we caught it early. And we found the UF Small Animal Hospital Clinical Trials program—a team of extraordinary humans who don't just practice medicine. They perform miracles.
On March 31, 2025, we walked through their doors terrified. The surgeons took Angus in. They did what they called routine—but what we call miracle work.
Within three months of surgery and clinical trials, Angus was cancer-free. Every three months, we return for check-ups. Every three months, we hold our breath. And every three months so far, we've heard the words every pet parent dreams of: "Still clear."
This page exists because heroes deserve to be named. These are the people who gave us more time with our boy.
These hands saved Angus's life.
The hands that comfort, the hearts that care.
And to all the staff members we haven't met yet — thank you for the work you do. You save lives every day.

If your pet is facing a cancer diagnosis, there is hope. Clinical trials save lives.
"You didn't just save my best friend, You saved my world.
You gave me more mornings waking up to his face, more evenings with him at my feet, more moments I thought we'd never have.
There are no words big enough. But I hope these will do:
Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you."
